Description: Rakis is a barren rock with deserts and almost no water, but in the North there are icy mountains and plains, which makes it possible for the area around to have some green areas with trees, plants and grass. Several inter-planetary factions have shown interest on this planet, due to a unique mix of spice called Mélange – commonly known Spice Mélange. It is one of the rarest and most unique spices of the galaxy, due to its ability to be mixed with other metals, making them become stronger and lighter. Whether from the fuselage of ships to armor itself, Spice Mélage makes them stronger and capable of withstanding more firepower than ever before. And in these times of war the three major factions race to buy it.

From the ancient Draconian Empire, to crime lords and Hutts, all try to gain control of its spice to increase profits. However, there is a group of humans, called Sadukars, who fight for the freedom of their planet. Of course, money conquers all and the Rakis Syndicate controls the planet.

People:Common society of Rakis is composed of two main groups: those who work with the Rakis Syndicate, and provide service to harvest the Spice Mélange or to make money through conducting business with offworlders, and the Sadukar. There is a task force that protects the harvesters, called Decons, whose solemn job is to protect the harvest domain against the attacks of the Sadukars. The other group is the Sadukar, a group of humans who, for many generations, have called Rakis their home. The Sadukar are known to be great warriors, feared by the people who are actually harvesting the spice. The Sadukar are low in numbers, since the massacre of the fifteen year war, but a new generation is rising and training to continue the fight of their ancestors for the freedom of Rakis.

Locations:

The Decon Spherestation

The Decon Spherestation is a station that is situated in orbit of Rakis. This colossal construction is the second proof that the Draconians ever existed, since they were the ones who built it. Ever since, the Decon Spherestation suffered massive upgrades and improvements. However, it was during the Trade Federation domain that the biggest repairs and updates occurred. After the Rakis Syndicate became owners of the monopoly of the harvests, they continue to spend money with repairs and upgrades in the station. It is home to a nearly a hundred million people. This spherestation is mainly used to synthesize the spice Mélange, but other businesses flourish here. This spheretation is directly connected to the surface through Kioden, by a group of turbolifts. The Decons have several headquarters here to ensure the security of this Spherestation.

Kioden

Kioden is the capital city of Rakis. The Rakis Syndicate controls the operation of harvesting the spice Mélange. It is here that there is a connection through several turbolifts that go all the way to the Decon Spherestation. Kioden is located in the only area that has a major underground river that supplies all of Kioten and the Dragonfly Ringstation. The Decons have their major headquarters here.

Alexandria

Alexandria is the main and major village of the Sadukar. It can also be called their capital, where the Sadukar Clans’ Council have their meetings. It is controlled by the Valentia Clan – one of the biggest and most powerful Sadukar that ever existed. Alexandria is situated near the Northern pole, the biggest lake on Rakis. The only place besides here where water exists is the Okara River that supplies Okala Village and the underwater river that supplies Kioden city and Decon Spheretation. It is highly fortified and it is said to be unconquerable. Perhaps that is the main reason why it is the main Sadukar village, where in times of crisis and survival the Sadukar of different villages find refuge.

Okalan Village

The Okalan Village is situated south of Alexandria, along the shore of the Okara River. It is here that two of the major clans are located – the Shumi and the Italar clans. Also, it is here that most Sadukar go to prepare themselves and gather supplies before going to the desert to attack the harvesters.

Sollaris Desert

The Sollaris desert occupies 95% of the planet’s surface, with the exception of the Northern pole, where water supplies can be found, and where the domain of the Sadukar lies. It is in this desert that spice Mélange can be harvested, but there are also many different caverns that serve as advance posts for the Sadukar. The Rakis Syndicate Decons are in charge of find these caves and destroying them, so that the attacks against the harvesters diminish.

History: Not much is known of the history of Rakis, but if it existed it would probably be one of the bloodiest ever written, due the large number of wars that existed between crime lords, Hutts and the Sadukar. One in particular that happened somewhat recently was the fifteen year war.

The fifteen year war was considered amongst several wars to have been one of the bloodiest, and perhaps the bloodiest that the planet ever saw. At the time, a human crime lord named Chine, the Fair, was in control of the planet Rakis, simply because he was the wealthiest at the time. In that period, large amounts of spice were being harvested and Chine didn’t have had enough transporters to take all the spice off planet, so he hired the Trade Federation.

It was only a matter of time before the Trade Federation arrived with an invasion force to take over the planet. Chine, along with minor crime lords, tried to protect their interests and fought against the droid armies of the Trade Federation. During the battle, a Hutt’s army turned against Chine and the other crime lords, almost decimating its task force, thus revealing that the Hutt had struck a deal with the Trade Federation. Chine was able to escape into the vastness of the desert with a few of his people, knowing that soon they would face death. However, a group of Sadukar found him, and, knowing who he was, took them to the Sadukar council to face trial for crimes against their people. Upon Chine telling them about the recent events, the Sadukar council began to make preparations to take their young ones to Alexandria.

The Trade Federation turned their focus to eliminate the resistance that the Sadukar had mounted, and after several days a huge attack almost crippled the Sadukar permanently. It would have been total if not for Chine’s warning. The Sadukar reluctantly accepted Chine into their people in order to fight against the Trade Federation.

After fifteen years of bloody battles, the Sadukar finally attacked the Trade Federation and were able to decimate the high command of the Trade Federation on Rakis. The Hutt, however, had planned this, and had been waiting to the right time. His forces attacked the Sadukar warriors, catching them by surprise, and bloodshed then ensued. Only a few of the warriors survived the massacre. Chine died that day, giving his life for the Sadukar and for the freedom of Rakis. After this massacre the Hutt formed the Rakis Syndicate.

After the fifteen year war, the Rakis Syndicate became the uncontested organization and had total domination over the harvest of spice mélange on Rakis, having decimated all that opposed them in any way.

Nowadays, the Sadukar still fight against the Rakis Syndicate, but they are still crippled in numbers. Still, they will fight to the death for the freedom of Rakis and they hope that one day they will succeed.
