Background: Born on a nameless world in the Unknown Regions, the Nagai, Atrum Curator, is a being strong in the Force. His world, populated by humans, Nagai and Zabrak, has regressed to the Bronze Age. A long lost colony, the descendents of the colony fanned out across their world. Cut off from technology and the rest of the galaxy probably during the first Sith War; they have crafted ‘Elder Gods’ whose ancient wars resemble those of the early Jedi vs. Sith conflicts.

Atrum was born in a city that worshiped ‘Dark Ones’ false gods who empowered the strong and punished the weak. Early on it became apparent that young Atrum had been gifted with strength and an openness to magic by the gods. Taken from his family he was indoctrinated in the Doom Guard, the warriors and priests who served the dark gods who inhabited the mountain near his city. Trained in the arcane arts of the Dark Ones, Atrum learned to use his anger to open himself to the will of the Gods and channel their magic to punish those who opposed their will.

Entering his teenage years, Atrum’s body grew stronger and he was trained in the martial arts to carry the word of the Dark Ones to non-believers by sword and axe. At the age of 13 he fought in his first battle and in a few years won great renown and honour as a powerful and savage warrior. To reward his prowess and the clear favouritism of the Dark Ones, he was gifted by an ancient war-staff of unbreakable metal once wielded by the Gods themselves when they walked on the ground with mortals. With the mighty weapon, Atrum carried the message of the Dark Ones to many villages and cities, laying waste to all who opposed the Dark Ones.

Then, one day, great sky ships blotted out the sun and strange warriors in skeleton armour appeared led by a powerful black armoured warrior appeared before the mountain of the Dark Ones. The dark warrior laid waste to the Doom Guard but was greatly impressed by their blind devotion to the ancient Sith Lords. Awing the dark devotees with his overwhelming power of the Dark Side, the natives threw themselves at Vader’s feet worshipping him as the incarnation of one of the Dark Ones. Seeing them as simple minded, fanatical minions, Vader took Atrum and five other Doom Guards with him. Ordering those he left behind to rebuild the Guard and to worship the God Emperor Palpatine.

Frightened but honored that they were chosen by a god emperor, Atrum and 5 other Doom Guardsmen were taken to Coruscant. Unable to truly comprehend the greater universe they believed themselves elevated to the realms of the gods. Upon arriving at the Imperial thrown world, the six Guardsmen were taken before the Emperor in a secret audience. The six primitives were utter overwhelmed by the sheer power they felt in the bent, old man. Proclaiming him in an Elder God, they threw themselves at his feet and worshipped him. Pleased at having backward and fanatically loyal servants who had already received some small measure of training in the Force, Palpatine sent the guardsmen to his Imperial Inquisitors to spread the ‘will’ of their God.

Working with an Imperial Inquisitor for two years, Atrum preached the divinity of the Emperor to unbelievers who incurred the wrath of the Inquisitors. Amongst the ranks of the Emperor’s Adepts, the Guards were mocked as simpletons and weirdoes. During one of his missions he encountered a rogue Jedi. Thrilled he found one of the fabled ‘Jeediin warriors’ of old, Atrum pursued and cornered him. It was a long and harsh battle, but Atrum triumphed and stuck down the Jedi.

Pleased with the Nagai’s accomplishment and blind devotion Palpatine rewarded Atrum with a lightsaber. However rather than having Atrum trained to wield a standard lightsaber, he had it implanted in the Nagai’s war-staff and commanded him to prove himself worth of his God’s favour and master the weapon he gave him.

Armoured with his new weapon, Atrum was sent to a distant corner of the Empire to train himself and watch over an Imperial research facility that Intelligence believed to be compromised. A year passed without an event, as Atrum learned to master the weapon crafted for him by his God Emperor. Then, while he was meditating, he felt the death of his great master. Stunned, he refused to believe that his god could be killed. For months he meditated and waited for Palpatine’s triumphant return but it never came. Left alone, Atrum’s faith was shattered. He spent endless hours meditating and reading whatever information he could about the Emperor and his allies, looking for something that would explain the death of the unquotable Elder God. A revelation stuck the Nagai like a thunder bolt; only an Elder God could kill an Elder God. At first he believed Luke Skywalker was one, but the fact that he served the Rebel Mon Mothma did not make sense to him, as a god would not serve a mortal. He came to the conclusion that Mon Mothma had to be an Elder God, one who empowered Luke Skywalker to strike down Lord Vader and the God Emperor.

In Atrum’s culture a ruler who conquered another ruler by right owned the land and the servants of the vanquished. Seeing Mon Mothma as clearly the most powerful Elder God and rightful ruler of the galaxy, Atrum has abandoned the Imperial base and began to seek out Mon Mothma. As he travels across the Outer Rim toward his Empress’s thrown world of Naboo, he preaches the message of the Jedi and the Divine Republic.

Personality: Atrum Curator is a serious man, even grave. He was raised on a primitive world that saw the Force as magic and the legends of the Republic and the Sith as struggles between the ‘Elder Gods.’ He sees the Jedi view of the Force and the Rebel Alliance as the second Golden Age promised by the Elder Gods and he strives to convert others to accept both.

Vehicle of Choice: Atrum uses what craft he has to.

Force Skills & Talents: Atrum has learned the basic fundamentals of the Force. His abilities are centred in combat and telekinetic prowess. He posses knowledge of the Dark Arts, but he has rejected the knowledge in favour of the power of the Jedi.
